In the mid-1970s, when our founder was just starting out in the fitness business, health clubs had a damaged reputation. They were known for leaving their members, staff, suppliers and creditors hanging as they went out of business and left town overnight with the money they had made. In fact, many health clubs still have that poor reputation. We’ve done more to repair this image than any other health club. Our view is their fault is in not reinvesting in their business, their community, and their members.

We honor our promise to make your membership more valuable each year. Everything we do, from getting the latest fitness equipment or programs, or adding more clubs in our community, is in order to make it easier for you to make the commitment to yourself and your loved ones to stay well through exercise.

Investing in memberships with Gainesville Health & Fitness also becomes an investment in the community. Through our members’ support, we are able to run grant programs for Alachua County schools, be a top-tier supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Alachua County, offer free summer gym memberships to all 13- to 17-year-olds, plus support more than 125 other non-profit groups annually.

We help other businesses in our community and around the world learn how to run more effectively. Health club owners and other businessmen from around the country and world come to our community, and visit our clubs, to see what makes Gainesville Health & Fitness so outstanding. We’ve traveled across the U.S. and to Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Germany, Italy, China, Russia, England, Canada and more. We have even presented to the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce about how to make their city a healthier community.
