Barre & Pilates Classes
GHF Barre classes combine the original barre workout with a modern understanding of human anatomy and movement, training your body in the safest and most optimal positions. Barre exercises can help create slimmer hips, smooth muscle tone on the back of the thighs, and tighter, flatter abs. Barre height can be adjusted for each participant and allow for all levels of fitness.
Pilates Reformer-Level 1
Pilates reformer Level 1 is for those individuals who are new to Pilates. In this class you will learn the basic principles behind Pilates work and create a strong foundation to build your Pilates practice. This class focuses on body alignment, pelvis stability, breathing, initiating and building abdominal strength, flexibility, and elongating muscles groups to enable efficient movement. Level 1 class is also ideal for those who wish to review the Pilates Fundamentals to ensure accuracy and stability before moving toward more advanced work.Pilates Reformer-Levels 1-2 Combo
The Level 1-2 Pilates reformer course takes participants through and beyond the fundamentals in level 1 and into the essential Pilates syllabus. Level 1-2 requires students to build on core awareness and strength, while integrating fluidity, breath, centering and spinal alignment. Your Pilates practice will expand onto the Pilates Chair, and Tower of Power as we begin to learn new ways to further strengthen the body as we integrate our minds and bodies more fully in the work. This class is for those who have successfully demonstrated the basic Pilates principals and fundamental exercises in level 1 or for those who are looking refresh their level 1 skills and begin learning level 2 skills.Pilates Reformer-Level 2
The Level 2 Pilates reformer course takes participants beyond the fundamentals in level 1 and into the essential Pilates syllabus. Your Pilates practice will expand onto the Tower of Power as we begin to learn new ways to further strengthen the body as we integrate our minds and bodies more fully in the work. This class is for those who have successfully demonstrated the basic Pilates principals and fundamental exercises in level 1 or for those who have learned Pilates reformer at another studio or a health club. Prerequisite: Level 1 reformer class and Instructor approval.Pilates Reformer-Advanced
The most advanced level of Pilates Reformer, Advanced Pilates takes Pilates to a challenging new level. Building upon the fundamental knowledge and strength developed in L1 and L 2 classes, Advanced Pilates will add more balance, strength and fluidity to your practice. The Pilates Mixed-Equipment Class utilizes various pieces of equipment such as the Pilates Chair, Tower, Reformer, Jumpboard, and Arcs. Participants will perform a series of conventional Pilates based exercises using these modalities. Some experience in prior Pilates classes will be beneficial, but the instructor will provide step-by step guidance while still allowing each participant to be challenged to their level of participation. The class is programmed to enhance core strength, spinal alignment, flexibility, balance and postural control.Pilates Mixed Equipment-Advanced
The Advanced Mixed-Equipment Class utilizes various pieces of equipment such as the Pilates Chair, Tower, Reformer, Jumpboard, and Arcs. Participants will perform a series of advanced exercises using these modalities. Experience in prior Pilates classes is required.Pilates-Yoga on the Reformer
A Mind/Body combination that is sure to please. This class is perfect for those looking for the best of Pilates and Yoga. Clients will experience Pilates exercises on the reformer to help strengthen the core, back, legs, and arms. GHF Pilates Chair classes are performed exclusively on the Pilates Wunda Chair. Created by Joseph Pilates, the Chair creates a unique and challenging way to build strength in the core, improve balance and increase muscle coordination and control.
